satisfactory academic progress policy
Satisfactory Academic Progress standards are measured based on the student鈥檚 qualitative
and
quantitative performance at d传媒国产剧.
These measures include:
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): A student must maintain a certain Overall Grade Point Average (CGPA) based on degree/certificate
type, and the total hours attempted at d传媒国产剧. CGPA calculation
includes all hours attempted at
d传媒国产剧.
o Undergraduate: 2.0 cumulative GPA
o Graduate/Doctoral: 3.0 cumulative GPA
o GPA is calculated for all coursework attempted, including repeats (both old and
new grades count). - Pace: The pace at which a student must progress within his/her program of study is 66.66
percent of the total hours attempted must be earned.
o 鈥淪uccessful completion鈥 means grades of A, B, C, or D.
o Incompletes (I) and W grades are not counted until the final grade is assigned. - Maximum timeframe: The maximum number of hours a student may receive financial aid is 150 percent of
the total hours published in his/her program of study.
o Undergraduates: usually 120 credit hours minimum 鈫 max 180 attempted hours.
o Graduate programs: vary by program but cannot exceed 150% of the program length.
o All attempted courses (with grades A鈥揊, I, W) count toward the timeframe, including transferred credits.
Students must meet each of the measures to continue receiving financial aid at Alabama State University. These standards apply to part-time students as well as full-time students. Satisfactory Academic Progress is measured at the end of each spring term of enrollment after grades have been officially published.
